Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun more popularly The Wizkid is a well-known music sensation of Nigeria, who continues to impress and melt hearts of millions of his fans. Born on the 16th July 1990, Wizkid is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and composer. He masters in his skills in some of the most known forms of African Music genres especially the Afro-beat, the Reggae and the Afro-pop.
Wizkid’s popularity particularly grew in 2010 with the release of his song, Holla at your baby, a song that featured in his debut album, which was released in 2011, “Superstar”. Empire Mates Entertainment released the album in both English and Yoruba languages.
The song brought him great fame and he was nominated for some of the biggest awards of the Nigerian Music Industry. The song also made up to The Headies Next Rated Awards 2011 and was able to mark a victory. Wizkid was the new music star from world tours to famous endorsements, using the Afro music genres as the key, he kept on paving his way to success and accomplishment.

In fact, in an interview to BBC, Wizkid was noted to say that, “Where sports used to do it, right now I feel like the music [is] – we’re doing it without a structure. So it’s crazy.” If the fever for good music continues in the region, the industry might turn into one of the most illustrious music industries of the world.
